History
ZETOR has been supplying world markets with tractors for more than 70 years. The first machine, named the Z 25, was manufactured in 1946.
In the second half of 1950s, with its launch of the Unified Series I, ZETOR was first in the world to come up with the progressive concept of using unified elements for manufacturing tractors.
The follow-up Unified Series II, ZETOR CRYSTAL, was introduced in 1968. This model series incorporated many innovations and revolutionary solutions, such as the first ever safety cab, which put ZETOR at the forefront of the world’s leading tractor manufacturers.
The first six-cylinder tractor, ZETOR CRYSTAL 12011, was launched in 1970s.
The Unified Series III was introduced in 1991 and renamed ZETOR FORTERRA after its innovation at the turn of the millennium. The turn of the millennium was a critical period for the brand.
The HTC holding a.s. investment group from Slovakia took over the company in 2002. The new owner started to invest in the company’s stabilization and restructuring. The volume of output continuously rose. In 2011, a new ZETOR TRACTORS a. s. strategy was adopted, the aim of which was to add a new model series to the existing portfolio. New experts were recruited to the company, with emphasis given to developing the dealer network and enhancing its quality.
At the end of 2015, ZETOR TRACTORS a.s. introduced a design concept, developed in cooperation with the Pininfarina design studio. The company is constantly moving forward and innovating its tractors. In 2014, the company´s new affiliation ZETOR INDIA Pvt. Ltd. was founded – a subsidiary based in Chandigarh in the north of India, historically a strong region for the brand. The goal of the subsidiary is the brand´s penetration of developing markets in the region of Asia and Africa.
A few years later, brand new product produced in India ZETOR GLOBAL RANGE was released. Current ZETOR portfolio consists of tractors in a power range from 20 to 170 HP in emission standard Stage V for EU markets and from 30 to 140 HP in emission standard Stage IIIA/IIIB for non-EU markets.
